Radha Paudel, Ph.D., is an author, activist & lifelong rebel, for Dignified Menstruation. She founded a global network `Global South Coalition for Dignified Menstruation’. Despite experiencing so many threats and challenges, including funding, she initiated the International Day of Dignified Menstruation on 8th December, since 2019. She writes books about dignified menstruation in Nepali and English. She has received national and international recognition and awards for her activism and literary work. Ms. Lochana Adhikari, Founder has been working as a secretary in the foundation. She was born in Chitwan in 1997 and now has been studying at Kathmandu Forestry College, affiliate to Tribhuwan University since 2015. She is a full-time student, motivated by the love to learn and succeed as she strives to become an outstanding and successful woman in today’s society with the definite goal of becoming a successful and renowned forester. Besides, like a sensible human being, she is also interested in social activities and volunteering. Ms. Indira Chapagain is passionate about education. She has spent more than decades in education activism in Nepal. She founded a Shining Boarding school in Gaidakot and serving as Founder/Principal for the beginning. In addition, she has been the extensive experience in social work. She is a member of PABSON and other committees in her community. She has a Master’s Degree in Health Education from Tribhuvan University.
Akriti Chapai is a practitioner of Dignified Menstruation who is studying CA CAP II at the Academic of Commerce Institute. Belonging to a Hindu religious family, she has also been practicing menstrual discrimination in her house. Several menstrual practices were performed in her house. She is the one who advocates in her house to dismantle all these menstrual practices and for the 1 st time, she receives Dashain Tika during her menstruation.
Ms. Shikha Bagla is the CA by Profession. She has completed a Diploma in IFRS conducted by ACCA in December 2016. She has 10 years of experience in the field of finance, tax, accounting consultancy, and auditing. She also has experience in conducting a statutory and internal audit of the various NGOs/INGOs, bank and financial institutions, government sectors, and so on.
Ms. Anuja Bhatta, Board Member. She is currently studying Bachelor of Computer Science and Information Technology at Asian School of Management and Technology, affiliated with Tribhuvan University. She is resourceful and has an intense desire to learn and innovate along with excellent communication skills to present points precisely and clearly. She is a good team player and has the interpersonal skill to coordinate and work in a team.
Ms. Inge, originally from Austria, has been working as a software consultant for over 10 years before she came to Nepal in 2012. Besides she has a master’s degree in cultural productions from the University of Salzburg, Austria. She is the international director of our partner VHS Bhaktapur and Technical Director of Career Disha Nepal. Plus Inge has experience in establishing social business working for CGNSB. From 2015 to 2017 she was working for the Austrian Honorary Consulate of Nepal. She is a lecturer at the University of Applied Sciences in Kufstein (Austria) on topics of sustainability and frequently holds workshops and facilitates training related to social business and participatory forms of development. Ms. Tuka Sandwel from UK for more than 30 years, originally from Nepal. She is a social worker especially dedicated to enhancing maternal and children’s health in rural Nepal. She is one of the leaders who operationalized the birthing center at Sannigaun, Jumla. For more than a decade she has also worked with the Ministry of Health and started many health facilities and educational institutions in Nepal. She is a highly experienced proprietor/care manager for 19 years in UK. More importantly, she is mentor for PRDN, Supervised Placement and ONP since 1999 in UK. She is internal auditor for ISO 9002. She is the Chief Operating Officer of Chaudhary Foundation, social development initiative of Nepal’s leading conglomerate Chaudhary Group (CG). She also heads CG-Nepal Social Business (NSB), a non-dividend distributing company to promote social business in Nepal, another major social initiative of the group. She had a key role in the incubation of social business pilot projects of CGNSB at Jumla from March 2013- Dec 2014. A graduate in Environmental Management, from the National University of Singapore, Ranjit holds many feathers to her cap: She is a certified Environmental Management System (ISO 14001:2004) Lead Auditor (2010), and also Lead Auditor for Quality Management System(ISO 9001:2008). She has worked as Business Development Consultant and Environment Consultant for various development projects and acted as visiting lecturer in prestigious educational institutions of the country. She was also part of the consultancy team for the development of climate budget coding by the National Planning Commission in 2012. As a Consultant (2007-11)CH2MHILL Pte Ltd, Singapore where she worked in developing Environmental Management Plan, Environmental Impact Assessment, Diligence Studies, Corporate Social Responsibilities Strategies for various companies like Exxon Mobil, Shell Chemicals, Rolls and Royces, etc in Asia Pacific Region.
Marise Denault Advisor for Gender-Based Violence and Humanitarian Assistance is a Masters of Social Work graduate originally from Ottawa, Canada. She has worked in the field of international humanitarian assistance for over 15 years gaining considerable knowledge and experience in various contexts ranging from stable to emergency as well as armed conflict. Across several continents including Asia (India, Myanmar, Pakistan), she has worked on projects with a specific focus on primary health care, reproductive health, HIV, mental health, and sexual violence. In her role as program coordinator and mental health advisor with Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) / Doctors Without Borders, she has developed experience and expertise in assessing, monitoring, and analyzing complex contexts particularly in programs related to psychosocial care and sexual violence Her strength has been in the coordination of programs and team management particularly in settings where strong liaising and negotiations with the government, local NGOs, local actors, and community were required. Most recently, she was responsible for the startup, overall management, and implementation of a community-based treatment center for GBV in north Delhi opened 24hrs / 7 days a week, providing appropriate and timely medical and psychological care to the survivors of sexual assault and domestic violence, including children. This included high-level networking and liaising with all relevant local and government authorities; ministry of health, education, Delhi Commission for Women, Delhi Police, and local NGOs for multisector collaboration and comprehensive care of survivors. Now based in Nepal, she has been volunteering with the Radha Paudel Foundation as an advisor on gender-based violence and humanitarian assistance providing technical support for grant application and program conceptualization.
