Muslim Community follow the Menstrual Restrictions, Bara,Nepal

Radha Paudel Foundation, has examined the menstrual practices in Bhaluwai, Bara with various kinds of stakeholders such as representatives of municipality, political parties, mother group, faith healers, students. Also reached out Muslim community where girls, women and Maulana (religious leaders) regards to practices associated with menstruation. Muslim girls and women are following the restrictions during menstruation such as not allowing to touch Quran, pray, fasting during Ramajan, not allow to eat any kinds of citrus fruits and food, not allow to join any cultural activities, not allow to go Madarasa etc. due to consideration of menstrual blood as  impure or dirty. The Hindu community also have similar kinds of restrictions during menstruation. The only the difference is bit invisible unlike in west Nepal.
